The Rt. Rev. J. Scott Mayer, bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Fort Worth, will ordain Deacon Annette Mayer at 7 pm Thursday, March 1, at St. Martin-in-the-Fields. Join us to witness and celebrate this important step in Annette’s ministry! A reception in our school building will follow the ordination.
Annette’s roots at St. Martin’s run deep. She and her husband Don were St. Martin’s members for 25 years. Annette served on our vestry, as a Sunday school teacher, worship leader, lay Eucharistic minister, lay Eucharistic visitor, choir director, stewardship chair, and Stephen Ministries leader. She was ordained as a deacon on October 22, 2015 at St. Martin’s, served as our deacon until August 14, 2016. Since then, she has served St. Stephen’s as a deacon, assisting in worship and providing pastoral care. Don serves 4Saints Episcopal Food Pantry as volunteer coordinator.
New call to Chicago area
Annette has accepted a call to serve as rector at The Episcopal Church of the Transfiguration in Palos Park, IL, in the Diocese of Chicago. Please hold Annette and Don in prayer as together they step forward in faith.
